22 year old sketch artist who dabbles in acrylic paint, digital artwork, and leathercrafting. Enjoys walking around outside, cold weather, cloudy days, and not being around large groups of stupid people.

Enjoy your stay!

I didn't realize it'd been a full year since I'd posted a journal entry, wow...that's uh...quite an achievement. I suppose I'll give you a rundown of last year, at least, in brief.

It started okay - job searching, a trip to NYC (which was incredible I might add), slowly losing my mind from lack of things to do. Soon job searching turned into job and apartment searching, as our apartment trio went their separate ways. Fate didn't smile upon me or my family, and in May I lost the most influential person I've ever known in my entire life: my father. It still hasn't sunken in.

As the year passed I fell back into job searching and applications, only receiving one which I immediately accepted. Turns out that the graveyard shift at a hotel isn't always full of nutjobs wanting to rob the cash register - but it is certainly full of impotent management and 45-minute-late coworkers.

It's 2016 now and I'm back to being unemployed and terrified of the upcoming year. I'm 23 years old and I don't know what I want to do with my life. There's this looming darkness that I stare at and wish I could disappear from, but that's a little difficult to do when you have someone you don't want to let down. So I'm still here, and hopefully I will continue to be. We'll continue job searching and who knows, maybe I'll hit pay dirt finally and get something with the Parks Service or the Forest Service.

As for the upcoming year in respect to this website and my DA page, I'll continue updating FOAW (sorry about the hiatus, but you understand with the holiday rush I hope) as well as putting out my "Tribal Series" as often as I can (I've got at least four more sets queued). I'll start practicing faces and character development, hopefully, maybe I'll start posting gesture sketches up here just for shits and giggles. Either way, I don't see myself becoming too inactive this year.

Happy 2016, everyone, here's hoping it treats you with respect and dignity.

Tribal Seres - Mesozoics by aj-wisteria
Tribal Seres - Mesozoics
Aaaaaaand the first official sketch of 2016 (though it was finished at the end of 2015) - woo!! Starting off the year with more tribals! These aren't in any particular order or set, they're just some of my favourites. Of course I'm missing my absolute favourite of the hadrosaurs, and I didn't include any of the raptors...maybe another set of these in the near future?

Parasaurolophus (Parasaurolophus walkeri)
Ornithocheirus (Ornithocheirus simus)
Mojoceratops (Mojoceratops perifania)
Amargasaurus (Amargasaurus cazaui) - yes I'm aware that the creature didn't have a sail oops
Ceratosaurus (Ceratosaurus nasicornis) - it's difficult to do feathery bits so it looks like it's furry
Tylosaurus (Tylosaurus proriger)

Tribal Series - Fish by aj-wisteria
Tribal Series - Fish
Assorted fish! There was another one on here buuut I didn't like how it turned out, so I'm gonna work on it and release it as it's own standalone design. I can only hope it's good when it finally is released! Anyways, here's our species that these are based on, some of my favourite fish:

Sharks - Hammerhead (Family Sphyrnidae)
Lobe-Finned Fishes - Coelocanth (Order Coelocanthiformes)
Ray-Finned Fishes - Betta Fish (Family Osphronemidae)
Ray-Finned Fishes - Goliath Tiger Fish (Family Alestidae)
Ray-Finned Fishes - Piranha (Family Characidae)

Hiya! I'm doing just fine, just swamped with homework and studying and all that jazz and I'm so sorry I didn't reply to this sooner I'm generally terrible at keeping up with things DX

Okay, I just have to say that if time allowed, and I wasn't worried about annoying you, I would favorite everything in your gallery (:

Pffff :XD: I'm glad you hold my work in such high regards! I myself tend to look down at my adventures into the fine arts buuut I suppose every artist does that. Thank you though, my friend, I have gone ahead and started watching you - I rather like your photography, especially the flowers - they're so colorful!
